We set up Essential PA in January 2008.

At the time I felt Essential PA was a late arrival into the virtual assistant sector.

Despite this I was determined to succeed. I graduated from the Virtual Assistant Coaching & Training Company (I learned how to set up a VA business from the best) and we quickly secured our first clients.

The VA sector is swelling more rapidly than ever and there are some fantastic reasons for setting up in business as a VA. But standards must remain high otherwise the established sector will gain a bad press.

Best practice standards - your own business domain name, an email linked to your business domain (not a yahoo or a gmail or a btinternet), a system for backing up work, professional indemnity insurance, a registration with the Information Commissioner, a website, a back up computer (business continuity) and GDPR compliance.
